Removing dash on E Z Go
I have a 2001 electric ez go...I was wondering how to pull the dash out of it? I want to put a radio in it and unhook the back up buzzer...It looks like it has rivots in it now..If so do I just replace them with screws or what? Thanks in advance....

If you drill the rivets out CAREFULLY and don't damage the plastic behind them, you can use screws to reassemble. We are talking about the 2 rivets on the keyswitch panel, right?

As for the buzzer, I put tape over mine. I like the idea that I know I am in reverse or if I am standing behind the cart, someone else is. |

Thank you..I will use the tape method....I will try to find the sticky on the cowl. That is what I am trying to take off so I can run radio and speaker wires....

Re: Removing dash on E Z Go
before you remove the cowl, make sure you can get a hold of the Split molly rivits to put it back together when you are finished. I have on occasion ran low on them and they can sometimes be hard to find at your local hardware store. you only need 7 (9 if you are going to put the 2 behind the nameplate back in) but they are a must for re-install.

So do I have to use the split mollys or can you use some sort of screw? I hate to tear it apart without having everything to put it back together..

You can use screws if you want you'll just have to go to the hardware and find some that will work, little fat ones --

Re: Removing dash on E Z Go
Don't use screws on the cowl. The plastic tabs are not sturdy enough to be threaded into, and if you tighten too far they will simply strip out and be useless. Plenty of guys have installed stereos in the ball holder without removing the cowl. My point is, if you can't source the rivets (they are available from EZ-Go directly) there are other options.
