What's the diagnosis?
A friend of mine with a DS 1999 48v was golfing this week and after getting back into the cart, it wouldn't go. Checked batteries and connections and everything appeared OK.
Then he got local auto electrician in and after some fiddling, he jumped the solenoid and the cart worked. So he replaced the solenoid and then the fun started. The solenoid remains "on" when the ignition is turned off. Eventually he said he "thinks" the controller needs to be replaced. He can get the solenoid to click in and out with the foot pedal, but cart doesn't move. We did have the tow/run switch in the run position all the time. Any suggestions? I'm no expert, but I had a look at the solenoid he put in and saw that it had 12volt stamped on it. Could this be the problem? |

Re: What's the diagnosis?
Sounds like he put an automotive intermittent duty solenoid in it. It needs a continuous duty golf cart one...
