I have a 98 club car DS. The OBC is blown. I disconnected it and bypassed it. By running it with it bypassed. Can it do any damage

Re: OBC disconnected
Won't hurt cart. But either it won't charge or charger won't shut off. Great thread about this in the CC "Stickies."

Re: OBC disconnected
Have to also bypass the relay in the charger to get it to work. BUT as commented it will also not know when to shut off, it will throttle down like it should but since the OBC worked the countdown it will no longer shut off. You have to remember to shut off or get a timer for it.

Re: OBC disconnected
I can not express to everyone what i truly think of an OBC..."Engineers gone Wild" :]
A major safety concern is the lack of the charger interlok....the best idea i heard from this forum is to run the charger card thru the steering wheel, We have removed several OBC from customer carts, to be on the safe side, we use the Lester bypass kit & the 650w Summitt II charger...now that a nice charger! |
