FSIP speed motor upgrade question
Just wondering if anyone could tell me what I could expect with the FSIP MOT-A3 speed motor. The cart is a club car precedent IQ with 22" tires and stock controller for now. The cart is currently at 19-20 mph. Looking for at least 25-28 mph. Anyone running anything similar?

Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
mgray70,
Check my signature, for the 2013 Precedent upgrades I did. This package came from David at Revolution Golf Cars, a site sponsor. I get 27 mph all the time, with an occasional 28, 29 with a tail wind. I do need to work with Alltrax, because I am not sure that I have it tuned the best that I can. 27 mph is pretty quick, especially with only rear wheel brakes. Aflyer |

Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
With any of the Alltrax XCT controllers, 27 mph on stock tires.
The stock controller will limit the motor to stock speed. |

Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
As per ScottyB above; replace controller first. You will get the performance you want. XCT48400

Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
With the XCT400 and stock motor I can hit 25. Buy the XCT500 for $15 more, however.

If you read the forum you have already read the XCT control sets the RPM limit to 6000 rpms by default which allows the average speed of 22-23 mph in CC and Ezgo with Yamaha being a little slower 20-21 mph. The top speed with any aftermarket motor will be limited by the stock controller..... as well as the torque due to the 225a max flow from the stock controller. I suggest you do the controller upgrade - then later go for the motor you want. |

Re: FSIP speed motor upgrade question
On my 2014 Prec I upgraded in this progression:
1. dealer speed code 4 = 19.mph 2. FSIP A3 high speed motor = same 19 mph (controller limit) 3. XCT48300 (smallest controller yet 135 peak amps higher) = 27 mph |
