First thing I would do is MAKE SURE all the wires are right. Thats control wiring, battery cables, F/R cables..everything. Check your Micros and the wiring for shorts. What I'm thinking is you had a bad connection and it finally let go when you loaded it. Then you fixed the cables with the cleaning and possibly got one in the wrong spot. The reason I say this is because the solenoid rattling like that didn't start until AFTER you cleaned the cables the first time. Its real easy to get one misplaced. Most of the time you are signaled with a big spark.

on a car a ratteling soilnoid is a indication of a short in the soilenoid try bypasing to iliminate the soilenoid and make sure the soilenoid you put in is shielded at the mounting brackets

Default Re: If its not the solenoid...its a bad battery

well, I have to thank all of you for suggestions and direction on this lil beast. Ended up being a dead short in one of the batteries that just happend to take its dump right at the time of putting it on the trailer. As near as I can guess, putting it under the extra load of the ramps just pushed it over the edge. Swapped out the suspect battery and all problems gone.

It could have been a wire, or something else cheap....but no....it had to be in the pack....

thanks again all

Bill

how old are the batteries? it might have been something else that caused a battery to crap out.
