Default 2002 Club Car power issue

I am a new cart owner so please be patient with me. I have a 2002 Club Car DS with the IQ system. The batteries are less than a year old and tested good with a Solar battery tester. The cart is lifted and has oversized wheels and tires installed. The cart seems to accelerate ok but the speed stalls at around 8-10 MPH. After reading several post on that issue I performed the speed sensor test which my cart failed. I replaced the very expensive sensor and the cart failed the test again. The guy I bought the cart from told me that several other components had been changed also with no success. I was told that it was most likely the controller. Any help and or suggestions as to what my next step might would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you buy the sensor?

First of all thanks for the response. I bought the sensor from a golf cart dealer near my home. It was not in any packaging so I can't tell you if it was OEM or not. Does the issue I described still point towards the sensor ?

What are the three colors of the speed sensor wires? Will determine if it's Chinese junk (high failure rate) or an American made sensor

The wires are green black and red but something I just noticed is the red and green wires are reversed in the plug. Should I swap the wires to match the old sensor or does it matter?

Sorry but I went back and rechecked the wires on the sensor. While the wires coming out of the sensor are in a differs t order the do match up at the plug.

It's got the green wire on it, that's good. Means it's not the cheap Chinese crap they sell on ebay for 20 bucks. The Chinese ones have a blue wire in place of the green wire. Your symptoms are those of a failed sensor, but it doesn't always mean the sensor itself is the issue. You may have a cracked magnet on the motor. Pop the sensor out and take a look at the magnet and see if it's there. Post a pic if you'd like me to look at it.

I'll post a pic in the morning. I did pull the sensor back out and the magnet appears to be intact. Should it be flush with the end of the shaft or pushed back a bit?

Sorry for the poor picture quality but it's kinda tough getting close enough with the camera. The magnet is not flush with the end of the shaft. Could that be the issue? Hope the pic shows it clearly.
