What is the exact model of the cart? The serial number would help, it is above the go pedal on a white label...

May be a silly question, but did you make sure the "tow/run" switch was back to "run"?

Electrical is pretty tricky, are you fluent with a multimeter?

Ok, is it a series cart? If it has a knob for a shifter it's a series. If it's a rocker switch, it's a regen. Is there a Run/Tow switch under the seat?
My first cart was a '96 series and it had a problematic pot box. CC only used these pot boxes for a couple of years. This could be the problem with yours if your cart has one...

My question is did you ever put it on tow? That is providing it has a run/tow switch. It is easy to get a damaging electrical arch while changing batteries.
