Overheating controller terminals.
We just replaced the controller in a electric golf cart that had burned up a terminal. Now the terminals are getting extremely hot on the new controller and the cart itself takes off like a shot! Somethings not right in the cart and was hoping someone had some sort of answer. i believe its the original problem with the cart related to the first controller terminals getting burnt.

Try to identify the year of the cart and the drive system used to help somebody help with the problem.

If terminals are getting hot, then you do not have a good clean connection there. You need to clean the cables so that you get a perfect connection or it will get hot - sometimes hot enough to melt a terminal.

2006 48 Volt GE Club Car, all of the terminals where cleaned when the controller was installed. The cart is really fast, faster then normal, 25-30 mph. It accelerates like its suped up or something.

You may have a speed motor? Post any identification you can find on the motor here. This may be drawing more amperage than stock causing your stock electronics to over heat.

GE Motors &Industrial system,HP 7.0, RPM 5106, 48 volt, Amp 135/7 8f, FR 48, Wound Shunt, AMB 40 degrees C, Time rating 15 min. Im not exactly sure what all of these mean, but its all the info off the motor. The company i work for bought it used, i honestly have no clue whats been done to it previously. we used it for a while and the one day just stopped running and that's when i found the burned out terminal, so i went with the old standard of replacing the obvious :D

Sounds like you have a hot motor and not so hot (stock) controls for it.

That is the exact motor I have. It is a high speed/torque motor, mine goes 25 mph but I have upgraded controller etc.
