Default 18 month old US Batteries case split

Replaced 4 12v July of 2015. Charger had been plugged in all winter. Went to move it and no go. Unplugged and plugged back in charger. Nothing. Pushed in garage, took caps off, empty. Confused I grabbed my gallon of distilled water, began filling and heard it running on the shop floor. All four cases cracked in the corner. Anyone else run into this with US batteries? Not sure what went wrong, but obviously they froze.

Ah man, that SUCKS! I would look for a parasitic draw as even without the charger they shouldn't have discharged to the point of freezing in a few months in the cold. What kind of charger?

Had to have frozen! They would not split like that unless they froze. They must have discharged - which then allows them to freeze in cold temps.

^^^^ I would have to agree ^^^^ you can not rely on CC chargers to keep them up without you unplugging and plugging it back it every few weeks . You need to invest in a good DPI charger with float to keep it charged up over winter storage.

I used to leave it in the back of my toyhauler all winter with the 2006 Trojans and never had a problem. Thought I was doing the right thing leaving it plugged in.

Check with your dealer, they may still be under warranty. I just got a set of US batts and received a 2 year replacement warranty.

The club car charger doesn't charge US batteries to correct specs, a DPI charger can be adjusted specifically for US batteries, which require a higher initial charge

I doubt they'll cover that under a warranty.

Get a DPI charger. It gets cold up here in the north east. I see this happen alot.
