Default Golf cart slowly losses speed and come to stop but in 5 mins back to full speed??

Please help! I have a 91 club cart DS with new battery's 6 of them I don't know what the amp is. My cart was running fine but now after less than a mile it will slowly slow down to a stop. I felt all the wires connected to the cart and on get very hot. After 1 min I can go very slowly but soon to a stop after 10 min I have full power and can go a bit?? What is wrong with this?? It also has a built in charger on it so I plug the cart directly into the wall. I unfortunately really don't know much about these carts.

Welcome to BGW.

what is the battery pack voltage after charge? Wires getting hot is resistance of the current through the wire. Many reasons why that can happen. (Wire gauge to small, bad connections, etc). I'm sure others will chime in, but there is much more info needed to help you troubleshoot.

Not sure this your situation but here's what happened to me. I forgot to charge my cart. Drove halfway to the golf course and the battery went dead. I walked home to get my other cart to pull it home. By the time I got back the charge had built back up to were I could drive it home. So if I were you I would make sure your cart was being fully charger with the built in charger.
