You got the good axle in her too!!! If the frame is good, [no cracks or severely corroded areas] You have a perfect platform for a great build! Keep us posted.

That's a good looking cart for the year! I'm actually in the process of doing the exact same thing. Mine is an 88. I went with the C54 kit from cartsunlimited, to give me more options in the future if I decide to upgrade the motor. I just installed a 6 inch a-arm lift and 23" tires today. Brand new batteries too. I am just waiting on my cables and charger to arrive to test everything out. I also replaced the leaf spring with heavy duty ones, because it will have a rear seat, just another idea.

Yessir!!! That sounds exactly what I’m doing. I’ve been looking at those kits too. I think I’ll probably go with the same thing. What charger did you get? I’ve really just started looking at this stuff in the past few days. Already addicted.

I ordered the Yewy 1200Z from scottyb at cartsunlimited. I had a good experience with him when I ordered the conversion kit. He also has a great reputation here so I trust the products that he sells. I will be using my cart while camping, so I wanted a small and light weight charger as well.

As far as cables go, I decided to make my own. I am planning on building a couple more carts in the future so I bought a crimping tool. If not I probably would have just bought some pre-made.

The kits are great and Scotty is excellent too. You can’t go wrong getting advice from him. I’ve ordered a ton from him[emoji106][emoji2532]

I just sent him an email. I think that c54 is what I need but I’m not sure. I’d like the cart to do at around 25.

I picked up a newer parts cart yesterday. It’s an AQ05 serial number. The motor and I don’t know what else is missing from the drivetrain. What do you guys think? Should I use this chassis?

The AQ cart is a different (sepex) drive system. It is also almost 20 yrs newer. You can convert it to Series or you can build it. It is better suited to street use and will easily give you 25-30 mph with the right controller/motor combo. Click the research link in my signature to learn more.
