Just an fyi...On the GE motor, the magnet is pressed on the motor shaft not screwed on like the ADC motor...Sometimes it can be difficult to get off...You will see 2 screws but they are for the bearing retainer...Do not remove those or you will have to pull the motor to get the retainer back in place...

Thanks everyone for the info. I'm gonna leave the magnet alone if it's not damaged.

Is that a crack? Bottom of magnet.

Yes. It's a crack. But the location of that crack is most likely not keeping the magnet from working. The magnet has 8 tiny magnetic poles in it that you can not see with the human eye. The only way this could cause an issue is if the crack was positioned in the exact same position as one of the magnetic poles. Even still, you'd have 7 poles remaining in the magnet and the speed sensor should be able to get some sort of speed signal to keep it from going into limp mode. Lots of magnets can have a hairline crack and work just fine forever, others separate and crumble. I recommend replacing it, but it's not completely necessary at this point if you're willing to risk it staying in this condition and not breaking somewhere else and falling apart. You still need a sensor.

Thanks. I think I'd be ahead of the game to replace it. I dread it. Lol.

Just make sure there is no sign of severe "scratching" or "wear" inside the old speed sensor you are replacing (or just replace the magnet ).

I hope I'm not "biting off more than I can chew" with that dadgum magnet.

Spray it good with Kroil or some other penetrant and let it sit for a bit before removing..Use a paint can opener tool to remove...

Not to hijack the thread, but been having same problem with my cart too. I don’t see a speed sensor on my cart. It’s a 2002 club car. Here are the pictures of everything. The triangle piece is set to “b” the other option is “1” and not sure. Anyone seen anything like this? Not sure how to post pictures from phone but will try
