I wish though, they had put a sealed [Weatherpac or Deutsch] plug on the harness, considering where it is often mounted. |

Mine is mounted inside the frame just behind the batts. Fairly protected but the plug is tied to the frame next to the batts and gets wet from time to time. Thankfully, the automotive, heavy equipment, agricultural, marine and recreational companies got away from molex plugs and connectors 20 years ago for good reason. I wouldn't want to go back IMHO.

We understand the benefits of a wet location plug but, my suggestion is to not locate this unit where it will be needing one.
