California Roadster re power
After fighting with a flood damaged (salt water) cart for a year now, I finally got motivated enough to Repower to a gas motor.
I bought a front damaged cart for $200. And thought it would be a slam dunk to just "switch" all parts to old frame ! Ha NO !!! The electric carts frames are completely different, and the crashed cart had aluminum frame, so out comes the saws all. It's been a week and I'm almost done with fabrication and install of parts. This week the body goes back on for the test ride. Then a couple bling items (Jakes shifter and aluminum steering wheel) and I'm done.....stay tuned, Murphy hasn't visited yet !!! |

I've been looking at the roadsters... Wanted to put a Kawasaki kfx700 shaft drive in the front.. Think that might fit?

Will need extensive frame mods, and possibly build a shaft tunnel, BUT if it fits between the fenders it would be cool !!!

Looks great! I am currently working on restoring an ACG Roadster and an H3 and am finding it difficult to find parts and get answers from ACG. Going to leave mine electric is the plan for now and the Roadster is moving under its own power after new batteries and throttle box swap.
A couple questions for you if I could. Do you know if the ACG carts are built on the frames for something more common like a Club Car or EZgo or are they completely custom? Do you know who the manufacturer of the front brake components might be? Looks like a need a master cylinder replacement and likely caliper seals/pistons. If your electric throttle box is good are you interested in selling it since I assume you will go with a mechanical throttle for the gas power? Allan |
