Question Honda gx620 wire rectifire wire ????

I would like to know where the little wire coming out of the rectifier is supposed to go. It is white with blue stripe and red dots on it and it is smaller guage than the other rectifier wires.

How are you checking if it's charging?

I use the DVM (digital volt meter) at the battery. With the engine off I get about 12.3 to 12.6, with the engine running I'm getting 14. +.

BTW, what's a "Hoga"?

I don`t know how I even got the far off on spelling Honda. Plus recitfier I had not even been drinking very long at the time

I don`t get anything extra at the battery.

I love that caveat

I would meter the 2 gray wires (GR) at the rectifier, may be something at the charge coil??
See what you have off the gray at the rectifier..........

Grey wires are ac right ? I am getting .3 on both of them . The meter reads from zero to .3 . I checked my neighbors Land pride Treker with the same motor and I get the same readings. But the L P reads 13 + at the battery.

That makes it easier, I would start checking all you grounds. I'm 99.8% shure that you have a faulty ground somewhere.
I used the OE ground strap to ground the engine to the frame. That cured my charging problem.

My white wires coming out of the r/r are not hot with the key in the run position. On the treker they are. I am sure this has something to do with it but I don`t know why they are not hot.

hi jmz,
I have honda gx620 . The two gray wires are from the charge coils and they are AC. With a dvm ,measure gray wire to gray wire, reading should be 13-15v ac. After the reg/rectifier there is a 25A fuse in the charge circuit, it may be blown. I had similiar problem and finally replaced the r/r and worked fine after that.
