Default Parking Brake

I have a 1994 Club Car FE290 and the parking brake no longer holds. Is there an adjustment or does something need to be replaced?

On the back side of the brake, attached to the parking brake pedal that piviots there should be a small ball stud clip that is connected to a threaded rod. If its not seized, carefully unclip it, and adjust the shaft length.. Now test it multiple times, if it engages too much, it will also affect the gas pedal position and pull it down with it, if the pedal is pushed all the way down to the floor. Ive seen this happen with an electric cart before.

If its too rusted, and or the lower tooth cam is all worn out, theres a kit you can get that replaces all the nessisary parts.

Would I want to lenghten or shorten the threaded rod? I've got the rod off the pedal and I"m able to screw it up or down.
