Hot electrical or hot plastic
Put new batteries in cc and when final negative battery cable is attached smell hot electrical or hot plastic. ??? Disconnect negative and smell goes away. Battery cables cool to the touch. Something is drawing on batteries because new batteries last about 45 minutes. Club Car DS ?”06”?

Re: Hot electrical or hot plastic
Give us a little more details and we will help you troubleshoot it. You say the cables are cool, but the batteries are dead in 45 mins(?) If you were drawing an amp load high enough to completely diminish the pack in 45 mins without operating the cart, the cables should be very warm as the current going through the stock 6g cables that quickly would be immense.
- Is this a 4x12 set-up? - What brand, model and amp-hour batteries and exactly how old? - Were you operating it during this 45 mins or just connected the pack? - Are there accessories connected to the pack or through a voltage reducer? - Factory lights or aftermarket? (LED or Halogen) - Type controller and motor? (stock or aftermarket) The more you tell us and describe the situation, the more we can help you... |
