Default diodes - solenoids

Vintage cart. Marketeer Model 438. Probably from early 70's.
I fried all 3 diodes attached to the solenoids. Need to replace them with what. Can't read any nomenclature on diodes.
I'm hopeful the solenoids are OK.

5 amp diode???? I'm confused... The cart is a 36V system. I was thinking a 36V/1W zener diode would work. Does that make sense...

Yes, the diodes were on the small terminals and hopefully I can match up with the direction they were going.
