Default Yellow Light ?

I replaced the batteries in my 03 DS and since doing so the yellow light comes on after charging sometimes. Also after running for a while the yellow light toggles on and off but the digital volt meter shows fully charged. Running the cart longer and the light stays on constant but the volt meter still shows fully charged or maybe dropped one digit. I've also noted the yellow light toggling on and off if the cart sits for a week without mush use of the cart, the digital volt meter shows fully charged. Before I replaced the batteries, two batteries shorted out, the yellow light only came on when the digital voltmeter showed below half charged batteries. Any ideas?

First thing I would do is check the batteries under load one at a time. You could have a cell that shorts under load in one of them.

I would also reset the OBC, the light is controlled by it.

I believe the batteries are fine if a cell shorted out during load the digital voltmeter would show a loss of voltage. I tried to reset the OBC but not sure I did it right. I didn't get the right buzzer fading out after 30 seconds after disconnecting the negative lead to the battery pack, I had no buzzer at all. If someone could run that my me again it would be greatly appreciated.

Resetting the Club Car On board computer - reset the OBC

To reset the OBC the following must be done in this order:

If no Tow/Run Switch then skip that step

• Key Switch to Off
• Forward/Reverse to Neutral
• Tow/Run Switch to Tow
• Disconnect the Battery NEGATIVE (–) wire from the Battery Minus terminal on the battery pack.
• Put the Tow/Run to Run
• Forward/Reverse Switch to Reverse
• Key Switch to On
• Press the throttle pedal down (hold it to the floor)

The reverse buzzer will sound (sometimes) and go off in about 30 seconds.
Leave the cart like that for 5 min to cause the OBC to reset.
After 5 min release the throttle pedal

To reconnect the OBC back into the system:
• Key Switch to Off
• Forward/Reverse Switch to Neutral
• Tow/Run switch to Tow
• Reconnect the Batt – wire to the battery minus
terminal on the battery pack.
• Tow/Run switch to Run
• Key Switch to ON

Thanks for the info, I was trying to figure how the buzzer would sound if the negative lead was disconnected from the battery pack. Figured there must be a big capacitor somewhere I didn't know about.

Not to hijack this thread, but is it better to reset the OBC after using the cart or after a full charge or does it make no difference?

Shouldn't matter, I would say the batts should be at least above 50% SOC...
