Newbie lift and alignment question
Hi, new here. Just bought a 04 CC precedent and just put on a Jakes 6" spindle lift. Learning as I go, Any advice on setting the toe in? Whats the largest rim and tire size to use without rubbing? Jakes has their opinion, but my local dealers all disagree. Thats all I have left to do for now. Thanks,
Terry |

Re: Newbie lift and alignment question
I would listen to 'Jakes' advice. Ask them for specific tire sizes that will fit your year and model cart with their lift kit installed.
They know - they made it! |

Re: Newbie lift and alignment question
Jakes did not mention in the directions how they adjust toe in, just looking for some tips on how to do it easier. looking for feedback from others on this and their tire size experiences.

Re: Newbie lift and alignment question
You just have to spin the bar connecting your tie rods, remember each tie rod end is threaded opposite the other! I have 2 Jakes' lifts and I would not go wider than a 9.5-10" tire or they may rub. I have 22x10x11 and 24x12x10 and they both rub on sharp turns. I have to get an extension plate, but my carts are 95 & 01, you're setup may be different.

Welcome to the forum Mrhavasu.......................
I have an Uncle that lives in Havasu. His home backs up to the golf course. I just wish I could get him interested in golf carting. Right now his interest is in Mortorcycles. |

Re: Newbie lift and alignment question
CPU,
I think they will rub, in my experience anyway. Spacers or an extension plate will be necessary. I'm told the extension plate is the way to go, somebody on this forum has one and said they work great, I'll try to find the post. Still trying to find the right thread, but here's some more info. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...2-bad-rub.html |

Re: Newbie lift and alignment question
Got it all done, thanks. I am using 12 inch wheels with 23x10.5 tires and no rubbing issues.

Re: Newbie lift and alignment question
I have not gone down any good declines yet, as for sharp turns, I have done it over and over and have plenty of clearance. Jakes advised me to make sure the toe in is about 1/4 inch to 3/8. If is tows out, they said it will actually spread the suspension apart.
