Default Rattle can & vinyl paint

Ok - I need the input of those of you that have already done/attempted this. I am painting a 1992 Yamaha G9. I have Dupli Color Adhesion Promotor and Dupli Color Clear Effects (clear w/sparkly stuff). The problem is, I can't find a color in Dupli Color that I like. Have any of you used a different brand paint in the middle without reaction. I know Krylon and Rustoleum don't play well together.

As for the vinyl paint. I have used the Vinyl & Fabric paint on the seats, but it is dull and kind of grey instead of black. How many coats should I expect to put on? It looks like the old vinyl is just soaking it up. Is that possible?

By the way, this is only a temporary solution until I get new seat covers.

All input is greatly appreciated.

I have done it without problem. I had only green plastic paint so I painted a plastic bumper Krylon green and next day rustoleum black ... worked good.

i think the key to that is the 24hr dry time, it gives the solvents a chance to dissipate

started the painting process last night. So far so good. I think it will turn out fine. Also put another coat on the seats. We decided that they turned a little cloudy because it was getting late and the dew was starting to settle on them. Another coat in the sun yesterday and they look great!!!
