Default ezgo clutch issue not staying on?

just rebuilt the engine runs great , but my drive clutch wont stay on the crank shaft, its a tapper shaft ( no key) should i press it on or impact it on and lock tight it ? any suggestions ? thanks brad

How much are you torqing it to? Sounds like it is just not tight enough?
