UPDATE: Its all done. Gave up on the old way and just bought a USB to serial adapter off amazon for $9.99 and it worked right away. I now have a key switch to slow the cart down if kids want to use it and turn it back to "adult" mode when I drive

If I get some time I will create a tutorial and post it here with the steps for anyone wanting to add a dual mode switch.

If you go look through the manual you change things other than just speed with the mode switch.

— Main Current Limit (M1, M2)
— Acceleration Rate (M1, M2)
— Deceleration Rate (M1, M2)
— Brake Minimum (M1, M2)
— Brake Maximum (M1, M2)
— Brake Map (M1, M2)
— Brake Start (M1, M2)
— Brake End (M1, M2)
— Forward Speed (M1, M2)
— Forward Field Minimum (M1, M2).

Trying to get my Curtis 1204 Controller to talk to my computer through a serial to usb converter an Curtis 1314 Software but it's not communicating. I have the port set to 8, and the 1314 software recognizes port 8 as well. Could someone point me in the right direction. My cable was bought on Ebay through RF Guys.

I am new to this forum. I have tried everything to connect to my controller but no luck at all.
the controller is 1207.
I have serial port on my laptop so i hooked a direct rs-232 connection to the 4-pin molex and tried ttl and inverted ttl , nothing succeeded at all. I have this version of the application. any suggestions ?

Older controllers do not connect with the new programming software. The 4 pin connector may also be used for a personality plug or a status LED.

Hi bob I live in western North Carolina could you program my controller on my 2016 rxv ? It is lifted 6” and currently goes 19 mph. I live in the mountains so I would like some good pulling but also around 25 mph. Thanks

With a 6" lift, you must have some very large tires. Oversized tires are likely what killed your torque. Reprogramming alone cannot make up for that much torque loss with a stock RXV controller. You are probably going to need a 350 Amp Curtis RXV controller upgrade, then have that reprogrammed.
