Need both clutches & belt for G16 - Want more power
I’ve read & read here and elsewhere but not sure on some things.
Cart is used off road only, around the farm, trails in the woods, hauling 2 kids and 2 adults and metal detecting gear etc... Cart is stock, 4” lift with 20x11 aggressive tires. I’d like to have more low end power Without losing top end. Basically would like to increase low end and not only go 3 mph. Don’t care if I increase top speed or not. The secondary clutch is trashed. Metal to metal and ate up. The primary clutch the weights are unevenly worn, 1 brass roller has a flat spot wore down to the pin. I’m unsure if the pulley part is “worn” or not ? Seems smooth but has a lip / slight groove towards top. Has a slight play between the two pieces when mounted. I’m assuming with cost of parts etc vs a whole brand new one I’d be better off new?? Recommendations on what to get and where and a good belt also please. I’ve read about a Umax spring for the secondary? Jakes kit? Or? Would like to buy everything I need in one spot but definitely want the best deal. Thanks. |

Found both clutches from a place called Golf Cart King.
$210 for primary $189 for complete secondary with red spring $90 for severe duty belt Seems reasonable? Or China junk? |

Plowmans doesn’t offer a primary clutch on their website or machining. Their secondary kit is not too much more than others. What about the Umax spring from Yamaha? |

I've used plowmans HD belt and it definitely makes a difference. Great quality, and $30 less than the no-name HD belt from GCK Nothing wrong with GCK, I've used them many times. But they carry nothing OEM, it's all aftermarket parts from china. |

Not the same belt either but listed as “performance”. Plowmans doesn’t offer a primary clutch that I see either. |

Re: Need both clutches & belt for G16 - Want more power
He has OEM clutches and upgraded internal parts to make them shift better.
If your sheaves arent worn you may just be able to rebuild yours. But still, the best thing you can do is call and ask him. Hes very very knowledgeable and helpful. |
