Default Club Car torque upgrade

I just bought an 87 gas Club Car for running around at our cabin at the lake. I would like to get a little more torque, speed and over all performance out of it. Can someone explain to me any adjustments, tweeks, tricks or mods I can do myself.I dont want to hurt the motor,I have been told the FZ340 is bad to throw the rod when the rpm's are raised, but I would like to have a little extra get up and go. I have a small budget for a few parts. I have already ordered a lift kit and larger wheels and tires for it. Thanks for any help.

You can order this spring from Cart Parts plus that goes in the driven clutch to increase torque. And this spring to go in the drive clutch to raise the engagement RPMs.

You are correct about the rod throwing, so you're pretty much stuck with the speed. Bigger tires with a lift will help that out a little, but then you have the same amount of (feeling) power you had to beging with but with more speed. Just be sure to order everything from Cart Parts Plus, some places sell "crap in a box"

Here's a picture of the carts plus spring and where a new belt sits on the driven clutch after Tom does the machine work. Works great Tom - Thank you!
