Try letting the brakes self adjust themselves first. EZGO brakes don't adjust the same way as drum brakes on a car did.

Take cart to cruising speed and press brake pedal hard as you can, being careful not to set parking brake. Release pedal just before cart stops.

Repeat until rear tires will lock up.

That is an Industrial 875 or Titan.

Take a look at the differential.
If the case is split, it is a 86.5 or 87.
If there is a removable pan on the bottom, it is either 86 or earlier, or 88 or later.
Not sure, but I think they stopped making the solenoid/resistor drive in about 1994.

Fortunately EZGO used the same drive in several body style carts, so here is a service manual for a early 90's cart with that type drive.

Also attached are parts manuals for 86, 86.5-87 and 88 model years.

The two switches should be called Run and Reverse. Only Run is activated in forward while both Run and Reverse are activated in reverse.

Here are pictures of cam and switches with F/R selector in Forward, Neutral and Reverse. Plus a schematic of a DCS drive system.

If cart run in F but not in R, then the problem is either the controller is not being told to do reverse (IE: pack voltage on Pin-4), or controller is not doing what it is being told to do, or the controller is not being told to run when R is selected (IE: pack voltage on Pin-6) If solenoid clicks when pedal is pushed while in R, the problem is one of the first two listed.
