Default pumps,pumps, pumps

Again it is not girls, girls, girls But a follow up to carbs, carbs, carbs, Something that seems to be an area of issue when swapping engines is the fuel pump. The 3 starting from the top left are all Mikuni pumps that failed. The first 2 are from my yamaha and the neighbors club cart. Both of those along with another neighbors round Mikuni from an EZGO work cart (I don't have it) were all replaced by the B&S pictured below them. Pump #3 on the top came with the sled engine used in my HD cart also dead. The B&S Mikuni is still running today in all 3 of the 4 stroke carts. BUT when I tried it in the sled powered cart it failed there. I am not sure if the 50/1 mix, being used on a 2 stroke or just a defective pump caused it's demise. Next comes the the E - Bay low pressure electric pump. Used one of these in both carts for a while until the one on the built VC 460 overheated and shut down on a hot day. Last up is the Holley Mighty mite that is being run in the sled powered cart now. This pump is very quite and been flawless. IF you do an engine swap bear in mind that your fuel pump will likely be an issue

I did have to run a return line with any pump I used on the VC 460 BUT it was not needed on the 440 cc Suzuki sled engine. I think the clone carb is set up for gravity feed where the sled carb is set up for a fuel pump.

The B&S Mikuni pump failed in the start of the 2021 season was was replaced by a Holley 12-426 Mighty Mite electric pump.

We installed the EBay electric fuel pump on Mr Chevy's old wheel horse tractor last week. It has a big single cylinder flat head Kohler in it. 2 mechanical pumps had failed on him so I had the Ebay laying around so in it went. It is amazing. The thing fires right up and runs better than ever. It didn't need a return line. So another electric fuel pump success story.

I think I'm going to add an electric fuel pump to this set up. What did you do with the vacuum line that went to the pump?

Cut the hose short and added a right sized screw into the hose. Old time hot rod style.

Well today I added the Holley 12-426 to the failed pump pile. It failed on my VC 460 powered yamaha G 14. For now I took the other Holley pump out of my 440 cc sled powered HD cart. I ordered a Facet 40105 low pressure unit to try out.

how is everyone hooking up their throttle line to a stock pedal? i really want to install a performance 670 kit on my Predator and ditch the factory duel carb.
