Knocking Noise???
Need some advise from some of you Gearheads. My G2 seems to have plenty of compression. It runs reaonably well. It is pretty loud at times. Almost a knocking sound. It can't be a rod or it would have puked by now. I have tried to track it down. Thought that it could be exaust. I cut the gas off and turned it over. Still knocks and rattles. Not quite as loud but still there. I then removed the plug. The knock went away. Checked the plug and it is not hitting the piston. Could it be timing? Does not appear to be adjustable to the ignorant eye. Checked the rockers and they appear to be OK. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance |

Re: Knocking Noise???
Have you checked the drive clutch. Pull off the cover and inspect.

Re: Knocking Noise???
That was the first thing that I checked. Found a counter weight problem but the engine still makes the knocking noise even when the outer clutch assembly has been removed from the cart.
