Default Motor noise

I have tried to build a completely quiet hunting ride. I did not expect any noise except from the tires. Is a hum or whine from the motor normal. If so what can be done about it?

check your brushes to see if they are seated (contoured) to the commutator. Sometimes the can evenvibrat in the brush boxes. It could even be coming from the diff (gear whine). Good luck and let us know what you find.

I took the cart out today and in reverse, the cart is very quiet. Of course reverse is slow even at top speed. The noise going forward could well be from the rear end gears. Is there a cure? I checked the fluid level and added some Lucas additative. No help. The motor is EMT so I would think it would be OK. Any suggestions?

There should not be that much noise coming from the rear axle. (some but not enough to worry) You yourself can be the best judge of whether something is wrong or not. I had an ezgo that had a little noise so I switched to a full synthetic 80/90. The full synthetic reduced noise by about 50%.

Thumbs up Re: Motor noise

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Think I'll do that myself just to eliminate the sympton down the line.
