Pressure Wash Engine?
Can you safely pressure wash the engine while its in the cart? Of course I'd cover up the CDI and stuff on the front panel, but can the starter motor, and other junk get sprayed?

Re: Pressure Wash Engine?
I pressure wash mine all the time, so , I hope it's OK Seriuosly,I do use press. for washing. I just don't spray directly at the coil and the electrical components. The starter motor appears to be sealed. I don't think water will hurt anything long term. I don't have any problems with it. Try not to spray seals and air cleaners. That's about it HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!

Re: Pressure Wash Engine?
Soon as it ever quits raining here I want to pressure wash my old G1 it sure is crusty from the previous owner who had a fuel leak and never bothered in fixing it. And you know what leaks attract, tons of dirt.

Re: Pressure Wash Engine?
eebasist, hi I just power washed my G1 today and what a difference. Got all that gunk out of everything and under it that has probably been there for years. It was windy here today so I left the rear lid up for about 10 minutes after wash and got on it it started right away and off I went no problem.

Re: Pressure Wash Engine?
Does anyone take off the plastic covers from the engine and leave them off? I assume they serve some sort of cooling purpose, but would love to take them off and leave it that way if possible.

Re: Pressure Wash Engine?
The covers do serve a cooling purpose. They direct airflow from the flywheel fan back across the engine. I would not recommend removing the covers and running the cart for any length of time. Just my two cents...

Sounds good to me. Will remove to wash and replace the head, then put back on.
