Default 2001 Club Car Series System won't run

Hello, I'm new here and have been trying to find the info I need via reading old posts, but I think I may be confusing myself due to the differences between years, etc.

I have a 2001 36 volt DS Club Car (serial no AB0149 - 100284). It ran fine for a while after we got it, then one day just stopped running while driving it on our road. We haven't been able to get it to run again.

Batteries charge fine (checked each individual battery and across all six with multimeter). It has been retrofitted with a light kit, and the lights will come on. Cart will not move in either forward or reverse. Backup sound does not come on in reverse. I do not hear any clicking when pushing on pedal, other than a mechanical sound from the pedal mechanism.

Any advice on steps to take (any pictures or links to videos are super helpful, as I'm new to this)?

Thank you!

I'm wondering if I've found the problem. The red wire shown here (circled) is loose. What should it attach to?

I was going to say check the solenoid but I see you have discovered that is where the problem lies. Lol.

from the wiring diagram the red wire was through the snubber, got that hooked back up and it still didn't work. We were able to jumper across the solenoid and then it ran. Ordered a new solenoid.

Did you order a heavy duty one? Few extra bucks and well worth it.
