Re: DPI Accusense charger DIP settings
I talked to a tech about the FLOAT mode and was told it has been replaced with a maintenance mode which monitors battery voltage and initiates a new charge cycle when the pack drops to 50% capacity or 48v and 36v respectively.
I questioned him again and he confirmed there is no more FLOAT mode, just monitor and restart with the Gen4. |

Re: DPI Accusense charger DIP settings
They must like the way the OBC works
Just my opinion, but that is a safer method. |

Re: DPI Accusense charger DIP settings
I have had great luck with OBC's over the years, and the battery life to support it, but I do have a DPI for one of mine that the OBC and charger got zapped during a lighting storm...
But I really thought DPI was on to something with that Gen III |

Re: DPI Accusense charger DIP settings
They must have a reason for making the change but the Gen3 with it's float mode was around for many many years. Lot's of customers came to rely on it to keep their carts ready to go. With this new maintenance mode you could show up at camp to find the pack 49% depleted and about to recharge tomorrow
Which begs another question. It is irreversibly harmful to leave a LA pack depleted for long periods of time, so why design a charger to do just that? |

Re: DPI Accusense charger DIP settings
How is it a company in the business of making world class chargers would not know that waiting to 50% essentially damages batteries?

Re: DPI Accusense charger DIP settings
Trojan claims that the self discharge rate is 5 – 15% per month depending on storage
temperature conditions. Where did you get the 50% per month figure? |
