1983 club car electric no torque in reverse
I have a 1983 CC electric that has no torque or speed in reverse. Seems OK in fwd. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks

Those have half speed reverse...half power.

it has 5 solenoids. I just checked them and 4 are working, and the one on the drivers side is not activating ( I hear it click, but no reading on the meter).

the first one is your master solenoid and it has to work to make the others work,and the half speed reverse is correct since you only use 18 volts to back up,

A lot of members have wired that 18v reverse up to 36v just like the forward speed. If you want to test it out you can just take the green cable going from the bottom of the F&R to battery #3 and loop it back to the other lug on the bottom of the F&R.... hope this makes sense ?
