Default Yamaha grinds when trying to put in gear

I have a 2002 Yamaha gas cart. Everything worked fine till it started getting cold here. It will go into reverse and work but when you try to put it in forward it grinds like it won't engage all the way or like the lever isn't turning far enough. Like I said this all happened here now that it's cold. Any help would be great ASAP. Thanks

You may want to check in the manual to see if a lighter viscosity oil can be used in the transaxle.

Most likely, the cold has "frozen" one of your f/r cables. There are 2 and need to both be freely moving to shift. Remove the seat and shift from f to r and see if one of the cable ends are not returning in the cable ends that mount to the shifter plate. Were in the 20's right now and have already had customers break frozen accelerator cables. We should move somewhere warmer
