Exclamation 06 Club Car converted to AC electric motor having problems

Bought a 06 Club car a few years ago. It is the XRT750 model which is the DS with a different rear body and dash. I removed the rear body, put a DS rear body and rear seat kit. I have a lift with 23x8x10 on the front and 23x10x10 on the back. Changed the rear drive to the limited slip club car locking rear end.

Next I changed out the DC motor to the Hi Performance (HIPERV) ac electric motor. Had it installed by my local cart dealer. They ac system has not functioned properly from the day it was installed. Three times this deer season I have been stranded in the woods with dead batteries and my led display says I have between 45-50% batteries left but the cart will not move. The cart never goes into limp mode and redcuce the speed it just goes to a crawl. I have six 8 volt trojan T-875 batteries. I just took a reading on all my batteries and they were 8.4 volts and a total 48 volts. The manufacturer of the ac system said i had bad batteries when this first started, so i put in brand new batteries. System still doing the same thing, so the cart dealership i bought the new batteries from gave me another new set of batteries with still the same results. The cart will slow to a crawl and led display says 45-50%, batteries read 8.4 volts and pack shows 48 volts. The last time this happened to me a few days ago i only drove the 3 miles or so on flat ground with a few rolling inclines.

Looking for some help to see why this is happening. I call hipev and they just say i have bad batteries.

have you had the batteries load tested?
Both in the current state of discharge, and fully charged.
One bad apple can spoil the bunch.

I have load tested every pack and the pack I have now is going 99 minutes. I have installed five sets of brand new batteries in every single one of them have done the same thing. The manufacture of the AC system is telling me my batteries are bad because they SAG to six volts under full throttle for a split second before they recover. They hold at 7.8 V under full throttle once they were cover

can the controller be dialed back to draw less amps?

Might want to think about going lithium if none of that works.
Where are you monitoring voltage at?
How big of cable is run to controller and motor?

The controller can be configured but dealer said I had the optimum settings. I am going to go back through the settings monday when I can get my hands on the programmer for the Curtis controller. I am checking the voltage directly from the battery pack using gator clips on my volt meter. I believe all the cables are 2G

Thinking that you have gone completely through the Cart more than once chasing this issue?

I would have changed out that AC Motor Kit before the 3rd set of T-875s

I agree with Heatwave. Time to get rid of that AC system you have. Go with a new AC motor and controller. PlumQuick who is a sponsor of this site has a great deal on AC motors or Dave with revolution has a good deal. They both stand behind the products they sell. I can guarantee they will not blame the batteries for any problems you may have.

That sounds more like bad wiring than bad batteries. Either you wiring is causing a voltage drop, or you have a bad connection somewhere with corrosion or something.

What gauge wire are you using? Pictures would be nice.
