Default Rear differential from 2006 DS fit 1995 DS?

My 1995 DS rear diff seized up and I found one from a 2006 DS.
Any idea if it will work?

Thanks

You need the whole rear axle assembly, but yes as long as it’s an electric axle it will work. There were some minor changes with the brakes, but everything still hooks up and bolts together the same.

And there were a few later electrics that had Kawasaki rear-ends, like the Lynx. So just be sure you have a Graziano and are replacing it with a Graziano.

Is this a Graziano? Are they made in Japan as shown in photo #1?

That's a kawasaki axle but it doesn't matter. Same final ratio and they should fit the same. There was an offset difference on some of the early axles because the motor cans were longer, but everything else is pretty much the same. As long as your motor doesn't hit the frame of the cart then it's good to use.
The early kawi axles also have different brake adjusters and the brake shoes were slightly different to match that. Just keep that in mind if you ever need to buy new brake shoes.

I can't just replace my bad differential with a new/used one and attach my axles?

The axle in your pics above is the one currently in your cart? That axle is a Kawasaki.
If the new axle is also a Kawasaki axle then you can swap parts between them.
If the new axle is a Graziano then No, parts will not swap between them.
The axle lengths are different on the two, and the bolt pattern on the axle tubes are different.

Unless you can find a Kawasaki center section, you need the entire complete axle assembly.

The photos are my current seized up differential.
Thanks for the info.

The differential in your photos is a Kawasaki. None of the Graziano parts will fit in it, as mentioned above. But an entire Graziano rear end assembly is a direct replacement.
