99 Club Car battery issue
I seem to have something causing the last battery in line before the solenoid and the motor to run down prematurely. I've replace the OBC and had the charger checked. It seems the batteries all charge and check ok. After charging I load test the batteries and the all show 8.5 volts and drop to maybe 8- 8.25 volts.
My problem is after a lot of use ( maybe 6 miles ) my voltmeter on the cart will show it losing voltage while going down the road and the cart needs to get back to the charger quick or I might not make it home. When this happens I check the batteries again and 5 of them have 8.5 volts and the problem one has 7 volts and load tests poorly. I have replaced this battery but the same drain happens always to the last battery before the motor. I switched the order of the batteries but the same drain happens always to the last battery Any ideas? What's causing this? |

Re: 99 Club Car battery issue
99 CC uses the last 2 batteries to power 12v accessories? Post a pic of these batteries.

Re: 99 Club Car battery issue
I see many small red wires on the last battery. Are these supplying power to accessories? If yes you may want to install a voltage reducer that pulls 12v from all the batteries equally instead of pulling from just one or two and creating a pack imbalance.

Re: 99 Club Car battery issue
Looks to me like you have the red wire for charge port hooked to number 2 battery + instead of number 1. I can not see the cables real good in the photo but the rear battery on the passenger side is number one and the rear battery on the drivers side is number six.

Re: 99 Club Car battery issue
Red is pack +, + on battery 1 (B+) (+ from batt charger goes here)
-/+ , -/+ ....thru to battery 6 - battery 6 is (B-) Black , batt - (Neg) thru the OBC (Neg from charger goes to the OBC, connects to Batt- here) |
