What kills controllers?

If your serious that would make sense. But to be clear the only water that got on the controllers was a very light over spray from a garden hose. Does not make much sense that you would put a water sensitive controller on a hunting vehicle that will by default go thru a bit of mud and water. How the heck are you supposed to wash the **** cart? Remove the controllers first?

I'm serious, unfortunately. Club Cars I know for sure, and I believe EZGOs, have covers over the controllers that pretty well seal them off from any water or other nasty stuff that could get on them and fry them.

I am not convinced you have sepex motors yet. You could have a controller that provides plug-braking to a series motor. My original SRE controller had this.

I am only an amateur cart enthusiast. I have searched the motor numbers and had no progress identifying their type.

If you want to try the new sevcon, I can't blame you for trying.

Fishsticker, can you tell us what the motor lugs on the motors are labeled? A1, A2, S1, S2? Or is it A1, A2, F1, F2? The former denotes series, and the latter denotes SepEx.

So A/F does indicate sepex?

Yes. SepEx motors have the F1 and 2 designations at the lugs, so I'd say your cart has a SepEx drive system.

Like all electronic devices - they have a limited lifespan. That lifespan can be shortened by excessive heat. Heat created by mismatching or misuse or simple excessive amperage draw.
Water can also be a problem for electronics. I fried a sepex control by leaving the cart without a seat or roof - in the rain. It happens.

I guess that's why BBB has the reputation they have. But you are right. A hunting cart is expected to be out is some adverse conditions and difficult trail conditions. So far my CC has not had an issue with either but then I go around any serious water spots.
