$150 Club Car see pictures, needs help
Hi Guys,
I just got my hands on an electric club car. Its the ugliest golf cart I ever seen...but i do see potential. The batteries are gone as well as the lower battery tray. Motor is there and I got a couple chargers with it. The brakes seem to be locked up as well at the accelerator pedal, I didnt see the controler, maybe its gone too..Im not sure if the motor is any good.I did see the motor. Any way to tell what year it is? Its got some weird looking solenoids under the seat |

Solenoid(s) plural? Then don't bother looking for a controller - it's a resistor cart of one kind or another. Stone age technology, but you can diagnose your way through almost anything on it with just a volt / ohm meter. If it's still there the ID tag should be on the aluminum strip right below the passenger side glove box.

Those carts are simple to work on and troubleshoot. They are also dependable.
IMHO that cart is in much better shape than you give it credit for being. Put some batteries in it and start troubleshooting. There are some very good wiring diagrams in the "STICKIES" here in the Electric Club Car section. |

Thanks for the kind words, its easy to get discouraged, and seeing how nice they turn out is very much worth it. Great Job!! The story goes like this, Its for My 3 Girls, 2 twins age 11 and a 5 year old. its something mom and the girls only lol...no boys allowed hahah (yeah sure) I already have my own, so I thought it would be fun to have a restoration project with the girls. Were talking about metalilic pink, They love your lift kit and everything else .haha |

are they any good? i have no idea, he's local and on markeplace, he wants the cores, but, I dont have any. Im a bit perplexed at the way the batteries go in. Im eather missing the battery tray, or the batterys sit in the framework?? Im guessing I should open a different thread on the restoration process? As you say, get some batteries, see if i can get the brakes free and hope the motor and wiring is ok. I see that I never got a key so, thats on the list. I wondering Whats a good spray to loosen the throttle linkage? I do have some of that stuff you dip the rusty parts in (i did see the return spring seems intact) lol I see dollar signs everywhere lol, but hopefully some sweat equity pays off |

The sweat equity will certainly pay off and you will have an awesome little cart for the girls! This was my first venture into the world of golf carts and it was a lot of fun, and I am a sucker for older stuff :) You have a great platform and I can't wait to see what you do with it!
