So with trying to figure out why the range doesn’t seem to be where I think it should be , I’m wondering about a bunch of things.
I noticed while replacing the cluster and being under the motor cover, there seems to be a light coating of brake dust (I think). Has anyone else notice this?
Maybe brakes are dragging a bit and causing lower range?

If brakes were dragging you'd probably smell it. What you see is mosy likely just road dust.

What kind of range are you seeing, and what’s your battery setup? Lifted model?

You would also see brake dust on your wheel rims...

Check tire pressure...this may be the problem...I try to keep
my I40 tire pressure at about 25lbs...

My range tends to improve by keeping the air pressure in the tires
at 25 lbs..some may like even more...never less..

It’s not a lifted cart. It came with the 6 8 volt trojan battery setup, which I questioned. The range varies but it seems very low, I’d say 12-15 miles. It seems like once it hits 90% on the soc, it drops fast. Barely able to get to 20 mph, won’t get out of its own way.
I’m having the dealer swing by next week to check it out, he’ll take it with him if need be. Just doesn’t seem to be right, should be able to get more range than that.

But have you checked tire pressures...it has an influence....

Yeah, they are a little low. Going to try them at 25 and see how that is.

How long have you had the cart? Battery formatting will begin with lower range until batteries reach their full potential.

Hey mwar410...what is the amp hour rating of your batteries?

I have seen new ICONS sporting Crown 6 volts 160 ah batteries
which will be very short ranged...ie very small gas tank...

Mine are 260 ah and 30 miles not even getting below the 80% soc and
that is with a few hills and many stop signs at about 150' to 350' so
a lot of stop and go... as far as I can recall 40 miles maybe dipped to
low mid 70 % soc...

My cart never felt sluggish or lacking in the get up and go dept. as
many fla cart owners experience...It runs with a fresh charge attitude
about it...

Because I did not want the maintenance grief ...I chose agms and they
are proving themselves with none of the lithium battery issues.

Cart goes on charge every night and stays on charge till I use it again.
These batteries have driven over 5500 between my previous cart
and my 2020 ICON I40 and are on their 21st month of service...
and are going strong..

If your batteries are 160-180 ah range...check wit your dealer and
see if you could get a credit for these in exchange for a much higher
ah rated battery...

I wrote all this to show what is possibe...
