I have no idea but that thing looks cool.

There is a Facebook page that is dedicated to vintage golf carts. There are a couple of guys in that group who know these old carts like the back of their hands. Post this there and I bet someone will be able to you more about it.

Any more photos of it? from the back, maybe under the bonnet? Looking at the lights and bumper on the front, I would think some sort of tug to pull carts around a warehouse or paved yard. What part of the country is it in? Maybe industry specific?

Sort of what I was thinking too. Looks like it may have been made to push things around. An airport maybe?

Looks like something NASA used during the Saturn period......left too close to the Rockets when they took off. Does it run?

In your introduction post you mentioned that it may have been a Cushman. I certainly does have anything in common with any Cushman that I have seen before.

Given the hydrostatic drive system, it was certainly was built for an industrial application. It kind of looks like a tugger of some sort ... but then again, it might be some sort of lawn maintenance equipment. Are there any other drive pullies or shaft coming off of the hydrostatic drive unit?

Perhaps you might want to send a picture to Sunstrand and see if they can help you identify it.

A few more photos would be helpful too.

as for "What part of the country" the cart is in Southern California.
I believe he got cart from something to do with railroad....
but we would talk about it being some type of " cushman prototype " designed by/or for military contracts & was made for public instead.

I don't see anything RR related here. What could a rail yard do with something that small and small tires like that? If so, I would like to know.

Still looks more airport, or factory related to me.
