Got all my parts in. Waiting for room in the shop. My dad started his Lincoln SA-200 rebuild, so I'm waiting for that to wrap up. Been busy at the engine shop too.

Only one.

I help out at the local engine shop. We've been backed up with mud motor heads. I've been non-stop porting these suckers the last few weeks. I also do the valve job and shaving on them. It is amazing how drastically different the ports are from the 23hp to the 35hp. Had a set of 23 heads come in last year and man it was tight trying to port them. We also flow most of the heads we port on our flowbench too.

SO.....it been awhile for me but I am back. Looking to upgrade this winter but need lots of help. Never considered myself a carb person - this is one place I never have adventured. I do want to upgrade to a different carb for my cart. With the exception of one thing I am pretty pleased with my cart. Never have straightened out my lag thing between throttle and clutch engagement. I idle at about 1100, CVT 06 clutch doesn't engage cart motion until about 1800 rpm. I hate this but have gotten used to it. There is 400rpms worth of revving I have to do before the cart creeps. I wish I could get this down to around 1200rps.

Anyway looking for a great carb kit to put on my cart. This is what I have

23 HP VTwin B&S
Cheetah Cam
Rev Kit

Any Suggestions on carb?

1800 rpm engagement is about right. Make sure your belt is good and tight. You don't want 1200 engagement, I'm not even aware of any clutch that will engage that early.

Carbs? Yeah, I've played with a 23hp Vanguard with a 42mm Mikuni and a 34mm Mikuni and can tell you that both are better carbs than the stock 2 barrel lawn mower carb. If you want smoother idle, excellent throttle response, and easy tunability....go with a Mikuni upgrade. I will say this, the Vanguard didn't like the larger carbs at idle, they loaded up and would always fuel foul the right side cylinder. I finally got the 34mm to run really good but I think it would have liked a 30mm better. There are manifolds available to mount them. It's worth the money if you want the best quality throttle response.

Vtwin role call? Present.

Love this thing. Was built in a rush but is still a lot of fun.
