Default is lift kit required for 420 predator in a stock 01 ez go gasser

Hi guys,

I am contemplating removing my 295cc robins that has a dead cylinder and going with a VC engine mount system rather than removing and rebuilding the original engine. The ez go I have is bone stock with no lift kit. Will I need to install a lift kit to get the clearance so it will fit?

Thanks in advance,

Barry

What model Ez go cart is it?
They have a few options
If it's a marathon then it will need a 4 inch lift

If it's a txt or medelist it will work with stock ride hight

thanks for the quick reply I cross referenced the serial number and it is a 2003 txt.

I think I might start with the cradle and stock clutch and then upgrade slowly.

Can the existing starter generator be used as well?

Yes it can be reused

You will need the bracket for it

I did on my club car ds and am glad I did as it helps me keep my cart driving like stock(abelt a lot quicker then it was stock)

Btw I wouldn't advise reusing the stock clutch as it might be able to handle the extra horse power from the new engine

Better if you want to use the stock gen, because the clones don't charge unless you get a certain one or you have to add an alternator or charge it. Stock gen will start and charge just like it does now. Stock clutches work but some do not work that well, so you can realize more power and better shifting with a replacement and that assumes your old clutch is in good working order (and some are not). Likely your largest issue may be the exhaust, most are louder than a stock cart. There are a lot of threads here on mufflers and what people have tried. It will have a lot more power, still operate like stock cart if you keep the gen, and you will have a new engine, its a great deal for a few hours installing it.
