Default FNR switch burning up??

Hey guys! I’ve came across a new issue! 😬

My FNR switch is relatively new and got fried up to the point where I couldn’t switch the lever to Reverse. If you look at the picture you can see where there’s melted plastic (last picture). You can also see where the blue cable that is coming from the FNR switch is slightly yellowish from getting too hot (first picture). That cable goes to the controllers M- tab. I put a new FNR switch on and I’m instantly getting a burning smell from that same spot. Any suggestions?

Heat usually from weak connection....clean connections and possible replace cable. With coating, you can't tell how much corrosion on that blue cable. I'd replace it.

Thank you for the input, I’ll start with replacing that blue cable and see if that fixes the issue.

Might be a bad crimp.

You and Bama were correct! It was a bad crimp and the heat shrink was completely gone so the metal was touching the plastic. Put a new cable on and I’m good to go. Thank you!

Glad to hear. I recently replaced all my cables because I figured my cart was about 15 years old and cables have to be deteriated inside. Upgraded to 2AWG. Got mine cheap here:
