Re: New Pics. Of Old Cart
1st pic in the second post. the same front end
Grab the sawzall........ and cut it off! I cut the 2 frame tubes that attach on the sides of the box flush with back of the box. I cut the vertical supports flush with the top of the box. Disconnect the steering first. Support the front end on a floor jack. it is gonna fall out in one piece. You need to know how much you are going to lift it. I wanted 4" but , had to go 5" to get a good puchase with the steel plates I had on hand. Whatever you put on has got to be wide enough to but weld the cut off frame tubes to. The tube ends are your control point(s) as well. PM me if I can help. Good luck. |

Re: New Pics. Of Old Cart
Didn't see your other question there the first time re little motor and the lift?
You don't know what a little motor is till you start pushing one around with a 2hp electric motor. I lifted the Melex and my solution was to leave the tires stock size. I say size because I did get a pr of tractor tread tires for the rear. Runs the same as before but with more clearance and travel. here's a pic and some drawings. click on pics for bigger image: |

Re: New Pics. Of Old Cart
Pictures of your springs and shocks would be a big help..... I lifted an old spring suspension cart yesterday. I raised the cart to where I could get the spring out. Cut off the old top mount. I welded in a piece of material and new mount. Then reinstalled the spring.

Re: New Pics. Of Old Cart
Yeah, I downloader and rotated em. Now I see it.
Looks like the spring and shock are the only things holding the rear axle housing to the cart. I that Correct? If so you can try to find longer springs and shocks ORyou can cut the upper mount off and extend it what ever inches you want to lift and do the same for the shock mount. I can make a drawing if you want. |
