i have a 1990 club car new piston&rings&valves cannot get good excelleration any ideas thanks

Here's what the manual says under loss of power:
1.Exhaust valve restricted with carbon deposit
2.Muffler or exhaust pipe plugged with carbon or other restriction
3.CDI unit failed
4.Air filter dirty or clogged
5.Governor improperly adjusted
6.Throttle linkage out of adjustment
7.Spark plug failed (fouled)
8.Restricted fuel flow
9.Torque converter not backshifting properly

I would check the spark plug first then make sure you've got good fuel flow. I have an 89. It is no hot rod but based on other carts I have driven I think it does what it is supposed to do. I wouldn't recommend modification to the flat head. Lots of stories about throwing rods. Mine goes fast enough.

when cold starting it boggs down sometimes a slite backfire runs good when warmed up and starts good thanks
