91 DS upgrade on a budget
I just bought a 91 DS that is super clean but is also super slow. This is my first cart and am learning tons from this forum! I am wanting to get a little more speed and hill climbing ability out of it, but trying to keep it on a budget if possible. I have been looking at the solid state conversion kits but is a little more then I am able to spend without my wife getting mad lol. Any thoughts are appreciated

91 DS upgrade on a budget
Scotty’s solid-state conversion kits are excellent. The best upgrade you can do for a resistor cart for sure. In fact, you can’t really do any other upgrades (such as 48 V, bigger motor) without converting to solid-state first.

Re: 91 DS upgrade on a budget
For the "Got a Budget" projects, the DYI contribution will save a bunch, than plan, plan, plan and you can save even more. however the DYI mistakes are a common repair job for our shop, Consider using places like Carts Unlimited to source your design, components & especially your questions. and always "Trust but Verify" not from them but info from your neighborhood know it all.
I have said it before the Club Car DS is the queen of the dance, nothing else comes close. You can make a true monster out of these....Enjoy |
