Default Upgrading 97 Txt to 48V

Starting with a 97 36V TXT. Added 6" spindle lift and 23" tires. Upgrading to 48V with 8 -6V Crown batteries. Bought the cart with 6 brand new batteries, so adding 2 instead of replacing them with 8 V. Research says I'll get more range with more available amps this way. I'm going to start documenting my build here and will be looking for advice too! Recently purchased a package from Scottyb!
- High amperage SR48600 Alltrax
- High amp 400/1000 super solenoid
- High amp 2 gauge 13 cables
- 400 amp custom Reversing contactor kit with rocker switch shifting
- High amp Admiral B1 motor
- Lester Summit 1050W Charger
Stripping all of the factory parts off today and broke several bolts for the factory controller and solenoid. Any reason to reuse that? I'm contemplating putting the additional 2 batteries under the seat and relocating the controller and solenoid to a custom bracket behind the seat above the motor. I would appreciate any input! Pics coming.....as soon as I figure out how to upload from my phone!

Nice! Looks like you're starting out strong with all the stuff you'll be needing.

Did it have HD springs before? I ask because I see it did have a back seat and sometimes people put on the HD springs and sometimes they don't. With the extra two batteries and rear seat you'll certainly want the HD springs.

I upgraded the rear springs to the dual rate when I installed the lift. Now contemplating replacing the front springs because it has quite a rake from the back to the front.

Ugh....Still has a lean to the driver's side.....gonna have to replace the front springs too, I guess. Getting much better, otherwise! Actually took it for a spin today to break in the motor. Got rained out for awhile, so I'll get more details as to performance tomorrow, hopefully. Here's some assembled pics!

Thumbs up Re: Upgrading 97 Txt to 48V

Nice job sir!
I'm working on a club car with 500 amp 48 volt controller upgrade as well.
High Torque Golf Cart Upgrade Kit - Admiral MOT-A4 Motor, Alltrax XCT48500 IQ Controller & Accessories (For Club Car IQ). Waiting on the #2 cables to get here to finish it up.

I'm also working on my little RED cart. I did the 48 volts with 400 amp controller. I ordered a D&D high speed motor for it yesterday.
