Re: Free golf cart club.
My very first cart was free. it was a Melex electric cart... the owner, my wife's Aunt, said brakes wont stop the cart and no longer available. I took the single motor brake shoe to a big city brake reliner who charged some ungodly fee for one shoe. And I was up and running - I mean stopping.
Soon the 48v quest and the first conversion was made... |

Re: Free golf cart club.
Our 97 Ez-Go was free because of dead battery. Had it for a while now with no real issues.

Re: Free golf cart club.
I got this in the deal when I sold another G16, so basically next to nothing. Mismatched tires, needed an input shaft bearing and kingpins/bushings bad, and the frame had some rot. Needed brake work and a good cleaning. Took care of all the problems, and replaced the wheels, tires and lights. Great body with '96 patina.

Where in Va. are you located? From Roanoke, live in Lexington now. Have a 97 Club Car, needs a little more power to pull the mountain behind me!

Re: Free golf cart club.
As a guy with 9 vintage carts and a reputation as "the guy who likes old carts" I get offers for free carts all the time. IE, people want me to get rid of their junk carts for them. I usually politely send the givers on the way but I actually accepted a late 80s Columbia from a guy this past fall. I'll use it for a parts cart as I have two other Columbias.
Some of my other carts, through technically not "free", were so cheap that they might as well have been. '68 Cushman for $100 (ran with nothing more than new batts). '85 Columbia 3 wheel for $100 that run with new crank seals. |
