Question Diff Manual for 2003 Workhorse

Hi all,

Having issues with getting reverse on my ST 350 2003 Workhorse. I have tried some suggestions and cable adjustments with no luck

I even disconnected the cable altogether and tried rocking my cart back and forward whilst pushing down on the shift lever, a bit of clunking like it was trying to go but nothing (I was pushing down pretty hard)

I have been told that it may be a bent shaft in the diff? and that I have to pull it out. Pulling it out looks pretty straight forward, but how complicated is it to pull the diff apart? Does anyone have a manual or exploded view of the internals?

I did a few searches sorry if I missed it! Any other suggestions or help would be great.

Thanks

Aussie,

Look here, http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...iagram-id.html

You'll find owners manual and parts manual. I'm pretty sure the diff is the same from 91 thru current

I typically use the parts manual for assembly and dis-assembly.

Good luck

Thanks steveb05, take your time mate

Thanks essness, I looked at the tech manuals you mentionrd and I have printed manuals for my cart but none seem to show the internals of the diff (I may have missed it) only show the diff as a whole with the bits that go on the outer. Also I love what you have done with your workhorse, hope mine can look as nice when I'm done.

Thanks

FOUND IT. Although the diagram is for a 94, I don't know that the configuration changed, just some bearing sizes etc.

Question Re: Diff Manual for 2003 Workhorse

Problem solved, thanks for your help guys

I did have to pull the whole rear end out but a good excuse to do some other work as well.

The problem ended up being that at some stage someone had tried to drain the diff oil but removed the wrong plug! They removed the bolt that has the spring and ball bearing that holds the shift rod linkage from pulling out. The ball bearing must have fallen out and they must have put the spring in and left it at that. The spring fell down and would not let the shaft go all the way down (reverse)

So thats sorted I just need to bolt it back up and shold be good as new. I didn't end up replacing the bearings or seals to the diff they seem to be in good shape and the cart has only done around 500 hours from new. Or should I have done them?

Thanks again to all that helped.
